Sting to headline 2015 Dubai Jazz Festival

Former Police man will join James Blunt and John Legend on eclectic weekend line-up

Sting will join James Blunt and John Legend as a headline act at the 2015 Emirates Airline Dubai Jazz Festival.

The British singer, who boasts more than 100 million record sales and 16 Grammy awards to his name, will perform on Thursday, February 26 at the Media City Amphitheatre in Dubai.

Sting completes a trio of headliners following previous announcements of James Blunt in the same venue on Wednesday, February 26 and John Legend on Friday, February 27.

The annual Jazz Festival, a former winner of the Time Out Nightlife Award for the city’s Best Festival, is one of the musical highlights of the year in Dubai with previous performers including Santana, Kool and The Gang, The Script, Jason Mraz, Deep Purple, Train, David Gary, Olly Murs and Jools Holland.

As the line-up suggests the Dubai Jazz Festival has a long history of crossover artists known as much for their pop and rock back catalogue as jazz musicianship.

“His ability to effortlessly and successfully compose and perform jazz, pop and rock songs makes him the ideal artist to help us mark the evolution of Emirates Airline Dubai Jazz Festival 2015 towards becoming an event that brings together a multi-genre fusion of international musical talent in order to perform in front of the world’s most multicultural and cosmopolitan audience,” said Anthony Younes, Co-Founder and CEO of Chillout Productions.

In addition to the headline acts expect to see free music events and additional concerts at venues across the city.
