Pete Tong interview

Time Out Dubai has a BBC Radio 1 DJ Pete Tong interview as he prepares to headline a New Year's Eve part in Dubai at Zero Gravity in Dubai Marina

1 You’re playing at Zero Gravity in Dubai on New Year’s Eve. What can we expect from your set?
A celebration of some of the great tunes of the year. And hopefully I can conduct a great vibe. I played NYE in Dubai two years ago and the energy was the best I had ever seen there.

2 What’s likely to be the first track you play in 2016?
I haven’t picked it yet, but it will look to the future in anticipation of the year ahead.

3 Any resolutions?
To make some great music, ride my bike somewhere I haven’t been before and manage my time better. I’m a keen cyclist and recently took part in a 532 mile charity ride from Los Angeles to San Francisco for the Pablove Foundation, it was an amazing experience.

4 What new projects are you’re working on?
The soundtrack and score for a cool new Netflix movie called XOXO.

5 Do you think Dubai could be a destination for clubbers, following the likes of Ibiza?
Dubai licensing will always be a challenge, but if the right environment can be created, I don’t see why not.
