Trey Songz interview for RedFest DXB

Time Out Dubai has a Trey Songz interview ahead of his appearance at RedFest DXB 2016 music festival in Dubai at Dubai Media City Amphitheatre

1 What brings you back to Dubai?
I love the architecture, lifestyle and culture. I spent my birthday here, and I just put my video for Blessed out online, and most of it takes place in Dubai.

2 We watched it. How did the song come about?
It’s about personal conflict. You feel like you want to be a better you. I’m a complex individual and there’s a lot more to me outside of just being Trey Songz.

3 Are you doing more acting now?
Yes, I am now working on a great role in a film called Brother’s Blood, and I’m really excited about that.

4 What can fans expect from your gig at RedFest DXB?
They can expect me to sing my heart out and leave all my passion on the stage. I’m going to have a lot of fun with them. They’re going to be a part of the show, too.

5 Who’s been your favourite musical collaborator?
Aretha Franklin, on my first album I Gotta Make It. I had the queen of soul telling me that I was going to make it, and for her to tell me that was like my grandmother kissing me on my forehead.
