First Look: Inner City Zoo

Time Out Dubai goes behind the scenes at JBR’s brand-new nightclub

Partygoers, listen up. There’s a brand-new nightclub in town and it’s opening on Friday October 13.

Inner City Zoo is throwing open its doors at the Rixos Premium Dubai, JBR, and Time Out Dubai had an exclusive first look at the chic new nightclub.

Described by Solutions Leisure, the team behind it, as an “edgy yet sophisticated party spot”, Inner City Zoo is aiming on “redefining Dubai’s club scene”.

With space for 450 partygoers, Inner City Zoo comprises table seating as well as a central dancefloor in front of the DJ booth.

UK DJ Emma Love and L’Afrique Musique legend Henry X will be taking to the decks from Monday to Friday spinning house and R&B classics, ensuring that club-goers will be up on their feet and dancing the night away.

A compact, intimate space, Inner City Zoo’s urban-style décor is chic and slick, and the 7,000 sq ft venue promises “trendy elegance”.

“Oozing sophistication with its edgy décor, expect a cosmopolitan hangout that's always classy, never trashy, and a little bit sassy,” say the team.

And even better, the venue has state-of-the-art sound and light systems, which boasts 200,000 watts of sound amplified across eight, 18-inch subwoofers and four 1- inch subwoofers, with 91 LED screens, eight strobes, lasers, hazers and smoke machines, and 1,187 lights in just the ceiling alone.

There’s sure to be plenty of surprises and entertainment, too, with live dancers nightly.

With ladies’ nights on the cards as well as other events, we’re sure this is going to be one hot new nightspot.

“Inner City Zoo is reinventing the local nightlife scene, meaning your weekend just got an upgrade,” add the team. “Lose the suit and tie, release your inhibitions and morph into your inner party animal.

Inner City Zoo joins the huge new Lock, Stock & Barrel in Rixos Premium Dubai, with the bar welcoming guests for the first time last month.

The casual venue is more than twice the size of the Barsha Heights original (at around 22,000 sq ft) and set over two floors.

There’s a huge bar area downstairs, which includes an area for live music courtesy of Gorgeous George and 13 Daze, as well as pool tables.

Upstairs there’s a casual dining area on the upper level, which looks forward to welcoming food truck-style offerings with everything from British classics (think fish and chips et al), to wood-fired pizzas and mezze, when it starts serving food soon.

And that’s not all, a brand-new steakhouse STK is set to open in the hotel later this year, too.

All-in-all, JBR looks set to become the hottest new place to be for nightlife lovers in Dubai.
