Speaking of al fresco venues, the consistently popular 360° is also approaching the end of its run for the first half of 2009, though we wouldn’t expect it to shut its doors until late May at the earliest. In any case, it’ll definitely be open and in action on May 7, as Aussie club night Onelove comes to town.
In attendance on the night will be a duo of antipodean DJs representing the brand. DJ Reelax – he’s so chilled he can’t even be bothered to check his own name for typos – will be headlining the night with a melange of house tunes, from breaks to progressive and funky house. We’re told that he’s spent the last few years building his name and reputation both on and off the decks, not only playing a resident DJ set on Fresh FM, Australia’s only dance music station, but also judging an Australia-wide DJ search and getting his tracks played abroad. He’s even been selected as one of the bachelors of the year by the Cleo fashion magazine, which we’re actually a bit jealous about.
Backing up Reelax is DJ Minx, who’s been a Onelove resident for three years now and will be dishing out a mix of electro, indie, disco and house that she’s been honing in various festivals around the world. Sounds like a pretty good night to us, but the usual 360° warning applies: get there early, because chances are it’s going to fill up fast – and nobody likes queuing in this increasing heat…
