Jamaican-American OMI – real name Omar Pasley – will be on stage while models strut the catwalk in the latest fashions from Etoile La Boutique.
The Fashion Central activation will take place at the shopping centre January 15-23. It has been created to give up-and-coming brands in Dubai the chance to “show off their new collections and introduce their looks to shoppers in a fashion conscious environment”.
Here are five other things we’re looking forward to during DSF:
Fashion Express
Taking place at Ibn Battuta and Dubai Festival City, expect DJs, dancers, rewarding activations and photo opportunities.
Fashion on Ice
See professional ice skaters and models at The Dubai Mall’s ice rink in a special choreographed event that will showcase Galleries Lafayette’s newest abstract collection while also using moving imagery and snow fall to create a unique atmosphere.
Street Runways
Street runways will take place in Meena Bazaar, Al Fahidi District and next to the Burj Khalifa.
Cover Pop-Up Store
Thirteen locally based and regional Abaya designers present their collections to the public for the first time with the concept promoted by Emirati designer Hessa Al Falahi.
Hermes ‘Wanderland’ Exhibit
After taking place in London and Paris, the house’s wide range of luxury goods, both past and present, has been integrated in interactive installations and curiosity displays, showcasing objects that were pulled from the archive of the Emile Hermès Museum. The exhibit will be located at The Dubai Mall and float upon the Fountain’s lake.
