Ravers, listen up! There’s a festival coming to the UAE that will rock the socks off even the biggest party animal.
From September 29 to 30, Relax RvCamp in Ras al-Khaimah (three kilometres from Exit 119, on Sheik Mohammed Bin Zayed Road towards Al Hamrah Mall) will host The Awakening, a monster 24-hour desert party with non-stop music, activities and fun throughout.
It’ll be like a Middle Eastern version of Burning Man, techno and deep house blasting through 25000+ Watts Sound System.
According to the organizers, famous international producers, DJs and local artists are all expected to come along to this one-of-a-kind occasion.
There’ll be no dress code or ‘Dubai’ etiquette, it’s a time to let your hair down and part-ay.
What’s more, it’s meant to be a family occasion, with children allowed in for free until midnight.
SoundOpia Full Moon Desert Festival’s planners want revellers to awaken their inner hippies. They’re encouraging everyone to bring hula-hoops, fire pois and anything else that gets the laidback, communal mood going.
The same applies to creatives: bring along your painting kit and coolest inventions.
If you’re worried it’ll be too hot, keep in mind that it’s expected to be around 28 degrees Celsius by the end of the September (we’ve gotten used to much hotter temperatures this summer), four swimming pools and the main music venue will be equipped with air conditioning to keep you cool while dancing.
There’ll also be a fully-equipped kitchen and bar inside for those who would like to purchase homemade-style burgers, fish and chips and other food and beverage at very reasonable prices.
Tickets for this amazing occasion are selling for Dhs150.
So what do you think? Are you ready for SoundOpia’s unique desert festival?
