Rod Stewart to perform in the UAE

Rock legend to play Abu Dhabi’s du Arena on March 2

Music legend Sir Rod Stewart will visit the capital next month for his first ever performance in Abu Dhabi. Thursday March 2 will be the night – the night it’s gonna be alright. (See what we did there?)

The concert will be the first of du Live!’s 2017 calendar and, frankly, we can’t think of a better opening act. This landmark gig is part of Stewart’s The Hits 2017 Tour that features his best-selling numbers – old and new.

The Scottish rocker’s solo career spans more than 40 years, with a songbook containing countless, global hits including Maggie May, The First Cut is the Deepest, Tonight’s the Night and Sailing. He is known for his signature, raspy tone and memorable stage performances. Occasionally leopard-print jump suits too, but the less said about those the better.

In the past, du Arena has played host to stellar acts like Stevie Wonder, Aerosmith, Beyonce, Madonna, Sir Paul McCartney, Jay Z and Coldplay. And now it can add another superstar to that esteemed list, for a stunning night of rock in the capital.

On his last outing to the UAE, back in 2010, the two-time Rock and Roll Hall of fame inductee was supported by ‘80s pop group Spandau Ballet. Who might it be this year? Well, recently we learned that Stewart will be joined by an artist just as iconic for his summer tour – none other than Cyndi Lauper. Will she join him on stage in Abu Dhabi? We sure hope so...

Starting from Dhs250. March 2, 7pm onwards. du Arena, Yas Island. Tickets available at and Virgin Megastores across the UAE.
