Sia to headline Dubai World Cup

Aussie pop star to perform on March 25

Australian pop powerhouse Sia is set to be this year’s thoroughbred headliner at the Dubai World Cup, it was revealed today (Wednesday).

The 41-year-old, who sprang to prominence with her 2014 hit Chandelier, will play the prestigious set at Meydan Racecourse after the race for the US$10million prize is run on Saturday March 25.

This will be the first time the Adelaide-born star, who last year had a global smash hit with Cheap Thrills featuring Sean Paul, has played in the UAE.

A spokesperson for the artist said: “Sia is thrilled to be performing at the Dubai World Cup at Meydan, being a part of such a prestigious occasion and for her fans to see her show in the UAE for the first time.”

Sia will be the latest in a long line of stars to have headlined the World Cup after-party, including Jennifer Lopez, Janet Jackson and her fellow Australian Kylie Minogue.

She is set to play a 70-minute set that will be under starter’s orders at around 9.30pm.
Tickets for Apron Views can be bought for the reduced price of Dhs450 until March 19. Visit www.store.meydan.ae for more information.
