Sean Lock cancels, Eddie Izzard announced

Comedian Sean Lock has been forced to postpone his gig at Dubai World Trade Centre in April but Eddie Izzard has stepped into the breach to ensure the city’s comedy appetite will be sated.

Lock was due to perform at DWTC on Thursday April 27 but promoters Done Events announced today that he has had to pull out due to “unforeseen circumstances”.

However, when one door closes, another one opens so up steps the inimitable Izzard, who will now be bringing his Force Majeure tour to the UAE on the same date.

The comic-turned-actor will be one of the biggest comedy stars to have ever graced Dubai and fans can expect a rip-roaring night of ingenious, stream of consciousness-style witticisms and unfalteringly engaging storytelling.

Izzard began touring Force Majeure in 2013 and has since taken it to more than 30 countries worldwide to much critical acclaim. The UAE gig will be part of Done Events’ new DXBLaughs project, which will see some of the funniest stand-ups on the planet play at various venues across the city in 2017 and beyond.

“We are very excited to be able to bring such a leading comedian as Eddie to Dubai whilst launching our comedy platform, DXBLaughs. Providing a unique show for our UAE audience, we will all be in for a real treat come April 27,” says Girish Bhat, managing director at Done Events.

That, dear sir, is an understatement!
