Tyga to headline season closing weekend at BASE

Club announces huge hip-hop line-up for last weekend before summer

BASE arrived in the city with a bang on April 27, launching with a DJ set from Axwell and a live performance from 50 Cent.

Since, Rick Ross, Afrojack, Alesso and Fetty Wap have all been at the decks, and the final weekend of the season promises to be just as huge.

On Saturday May 20, Californian rapper Tyga will be in town. The young star needs little introduction, with collaborations with Nicki Minaj, Lil Wayne, Rick Ross, Drake and Wiz Khalifa under his belt and as the man behind huge hits like Rack City.

Breaking away from its format so far, Friday May 19 will see BASE host the official after-party of Arab Fashion Week, with sets from massive hip-hop DJs including DJ M.O.S and DJ Magnum.

DJ M.O.S. has made his name on the scene with sets that fuse rock, hip-hop, soul, disco and electro house. He’s no stranger to some of the world’s biggest clubs (LIV in Miami and Hollywood’s 1OAK, to name just a few) plus he has been hired by the likes of Kanye West, Usher and Heidi Klum.

DJ and producer Magnum is also an A-list favourite. He’s the current DJ for P Diddy’s tour, has been hired by some of the world’s biggest stars (including Pharell Williams, Beyoncé, Drake, Leonardo DiCaprio and Rihanna) as well as Cannes Film Festival and Ushuaia club in Ibiza. Magnum and M.O.S will be joined by urban DJ AIK and supported by local DJ Chuck Wonderland.

Though entry to the club has so far been free, from Thursday BASE will begin charging Dhs200 for gents after 11pm (entry will remain free for ladies all night).

The last weekend of the season is bound to be a big one, so head down early to avoid the crowds.

Free for ladies; free for gents before 11pm, Dhs200 for gents thereafter. 10pm-3am, Fri May 19 and Sat May 120 BASE, d3, bookings@basedubai.com (055 313 4999).
