One of the biggest comedy stars to emerge over the past five years, Kevin Bridges, is due to return to Dubai in October.
The Scottish comedian last came to town in 2014, when his show at the Dubai World Trade Centre sold out the 3,000-seat venue. And Bridges is going to be playing at DWTC again on Thursday October 19, taking over the venue with his critically acclaimed comedy antics, which have seen him win rave reviews throughout his career.
Bridges is set to embark on a brand-new show for 2017, following his 2014 tour A Whole Different Story, where he sold out 16 nights in his hometown of Glasgow, plus arenas in Europe, the US and Australia. Across the entire tour, more than 600,000 tickets were sold – and to put it into some sort of context, Bridges is only 30 years old.
“We are very proud to be able to bring Kevin Bridges back to Dubai as part of DXBLaughs,” said Girish Bhat, managing director at Done Events. “He has a huge fan base in this part of the world as we saw with the sold-out show in 2014 and look forward to another sold-out show on October 19.”
Bridges is a comedy thoroughbred, having been around since the start of his adult life. As a teenager he hit the Glasgow comedy circuit, taking on regular gigs at The Stand Comedy Club in Glasgow, before making it on to Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow in 2009 after selling out more than 25 consecutive nights at the Edinburgh Fringe festival back in 2008. He has taken on three world tours to date, and has become a real force on the scene.
His show is set to be a highlight of Dubai’s comedy calendar this year. Tickets are on sale now.
