Mega night of comedy coming to Dubai on July 6

The Irish Village and Jumeirah Creekside Hotel to host one-off stand-up comedy special

A one-off comedy extravaganza is coming to town on Thursday July 6, featuring three outstanding comedians from the UK and Ireland.

Did you hear the one about the Englishman, the Irishman and the Scotsman?, from The Irish Village and in association with Time Out Dubai, is coming to Jumeirah Creekside Hotel, and will, funnily enough, bring three comedians from England, Ireland and Scotland to the stage for a night of proper belly laughs.

Joe Rooney, known for his legendary performance on Father Ted as Father Damo, is bringing his Irish observational and musical impersonation comedy to Dubai, having delighted crowds up and down the UK and Ireland for the past 20 years with a number of tours and TV appearances. Shortly before coming to Dubai in July, Rooney will be appearing across the weekend at Glastonbury festival, while hosting his fortnightly podcast Podarooney which you can find now on all good podcast platforms, including iTunes.

Mark Nelson, meanwhile, was crowned Scottish Comedian of the Year in 2006, and is regularly one of the leading comedians at the Edinburgh Fringe, bringing his surreal and slightly dark comedy style – typified by his everyday observations with cutting one-liners.

Nelson and Rooney will be joined by English comedian Barry Castagnola, the no-nonsense, self-deprecating southerner.

Tickets are available for just Dhs160, and available from 800tickets.com, with doors from 7pm and the show kicking off at 9pm.
