Damien Dempsey coming to Dubai’s McGettigan’s JLT

Irish folk singer-songwriter's one-off gig in JLT on Friday September 22

Dublin-born Damien Dempsey, the chart-topping singer-songwriter, is coming to Dubai on Friday September 22. The folk singer, known for number one album Shots, will be headlining a special one-night-only gig at JLT’s Irish institution McGettigan’s.

Taking to the stage at the Irish bar’s live music venue, The Baggot, Dempsey will run through a number of his greatest hits, which include Negative Vibes, Rainy Night in Soho and Sing All Our Cares Away.

Dempsey rose to prominence in the early 2000s with a string of releases, including his 2000 debut album and 2003 follow-up album Seize the Day. He has released eight studio albums, plus greatest hits record It’s All Good, as well as two live records. He continues to release new music and frequently embarks on major tours today.

Dempsey has shared a stage with Bob Dylan and U2, and in 2016, embarked on a tour with rock legend Morrissey through the US, so the Dhs50 price tag to see this Irish folk hero in Dubai is a snip. What’s more, your ticket also includes a free house drink before the show starts at 10pm.

Dhs50. Fri Sep 22, doors open 8pm, show starts 10pm. Bonnington Jumeirah Lakes Towers, Cluster J, JLT (04 378 0800).
