One of the biggest comedians in the world is coming to Dubai at the start of 2018.
He was the voice of Marty the zebra in Madagascar, and now Chris Rock, the Grammy and Emmy award-winning actor, director, writer and producer has announced he will be performing for two nights at the start of 2018, on Friday January 5 and Saturday 6 respectively.
Dubai forms part of the comedian’s 2017/2018 Total Blackout world tour, which has started in the US and will head over to the Middle East briefly before heading over to the UK, concluding with three nights in London. This is the first time in nine years Rock has embarked on a stand-up comedy tour, and will no doubt prove to be on the comedy highlights of 2018, less than a week into the New Year.
As well as voicing for Madagascar, Rock also wrote, produced and narrated a sit com loosely based on his childhood, Everybody Hates Chris, between 2005 and 2009. He was a cast member on Saturday Night Live between 1989 and 1993, and has starred in a range of movies including Dogma and Death at a Funeral. He’s even hosted the Academy Awards.
His Dubai visit will take place at the Dubai World Trade Centre, in Hall 3 and 4. Tickets start at Dhs395 and go on sale on Wednesday September 13 at noon, head to www.ticketmaster.ae or any Virgin Megastore branch in the UAE to get your ticket. There’s also an exclusive pre-sale for du customers starting on Monday September 11 at noon, closing at 11am on Wednesday September 13.
If one of your new year’s resolutions is to laugh more, then what better way to get your pledge off to a winning start?
