Fiesta De Los Muertos has added another international star to its bill, as the line-up for the Halloween festival on Friday October 27 continues to take shape.
Carly Rae Jepsen, mainly known for her undisputed megahit Call Me Maybe, has been added to the bill, which already includes alternative rock heavyweights Gorillaz.
Gorillaz will be joined by burgeoning UK grime and hip-hop star Stormzy, who’ll be bringing his no-nonsense A-game. Nick Jonas was originally due to participate, but unfortunately had to withdraw recently. Event organisers 117 Live have said another exciting international act will replace him soon.
So, this is crazy, but the music video for Jepsen’s biggest song has racked up nearly one billion hits, placing her in the upper echelons of all-time YouTube views.
Jepsen’s breakthrough came in 2012 with her second album, Kiss, which marked a shift into more mainstream pop after a folk-influenced debut record, Tug Of War, having finished third on Canadian Idol in 2007.
After a brief break from music, and a stint on Broadway as the titular character in Cinderella, her third album dropped in 2015, which saw track I Really Like You place in the UK charts’ top five.
Jepsen has won three Juno Awards and a Billboard Music Award, and has been nominated for Grammy Awards, Emmy Awards, MTV Video Music awards and loads more.
To date, she has sold more than 20 million records worldwide, and will be an accomplished, fun-filled addition to the Fiesta line-up.
