Netflix comedian coming to Dubai

The Laughter Factory bringing three more top UK comedians to Dubai in October

Following on from a September which included two major tours (featuring Britain’s Got Talent sensation Daliso Chaponda on Friday September 29 in Dubai), The Laughter Factory is bringing another trio of comedy geniuses to the city.

Six gigs will take place across Dubai and Abu Dhabi in October, with The Laughter Factory promising one of their biggest gigs of the year, with brilliant TV comedian Markus Birdman coming to town. As well as regular headline sets at The Comedy Store in London, Birdman has been around the block on the small screen, from Netflix to the BBC, but watching online is no substitute for seeing this quick witted comedy genius live in town.

“Don’t miss the real thing,” says Gail Clough, promoter for The Laughter Factory. “It’s like having a bath with your clothes on, you can’t really enjoy it.”

Alongside Birdman is Carey Marx, whose edgy style pushes boundaries somewhat, and for whom a brush with death inspired a hugely successful show at Edinburgh Fringe Festival. You might wonder how he gets away with some of his jokes, but he’ll leave you laughing hard, for sure.

Completing the line-up is Irishman Andrew Ryan, who found TV success with a storming set on Russell Howard’s Good News. He’s being touted as a rising star, so take the chance to see him while you can.

The tour will take place between Thursday October 5 through until Thursday October 12, across Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Tickets cost Dhs140, available from www.thelaughterfactory.com, with pre-show dinner and drinks packages available for Dhs140. The full list of gigs is as follows:

  • Thursday October 5, 9pm – Mövenpick Hotel Jumeirah Beach, JBR
  • Friday October 6, 9pm – Mövenpick Hotel Jumeirah Beach, JBR
  • Saturday October 7, 8pm – Senara Restaurant, Palm Jumeirah
  • Monday October 9, 8pm – Jekyll & Hyde, DIFC
  • Wednesday October 11, 8pm – Park Rotana Abu Dhabi
  • Thursday October 12, 9pm – Grand Millennium Dubai, Barsha Heights
