Win a Sony record deal with huge talent competition

Aloft Hotels searching for emerging UAE talent with massive contest

Aspiring musicians, listen up, you might just be about to find your big break.

Making waves and getting noticed in today’s music industry can be tough, really tough. So, Aloft Hotels have launched a great initiative to find the region’s best aspiring musicians, and give them a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to break through on to the professional scene.

Aloft Star is a region-wide talent hunt for the best new acts, in partnership with Sony Music and Virgin Radio 104.4. From Sunday October 1 to Saturday 14, aspiring musicians in the UAE are invited to submit their tracks online, for a chance to win a distribution deal with Sony Music.

Four finalists will be shortlisted for the final, three will be selected by judges, and the fourth will be a people’s choice finalist, through a public vote on www.aloftstaruae.com – so make sure the clips you upload are something special. Voting will take place between Sunday October 15 and Sunday 29, before the live grand final will take place at the Aloft Abu Dhabi on Friday November 10.

The winner will receive, as mentioned, a distribution deal with Sony Music, mentoring from some of the industry’s finest producers, and a professionally recorded music video working with stylists, lyricists and choreographers. The video and record will then be released through Sony Music’s vast distribution network.

If you’ve been working on a record and writing some new material recently, this one is for you.
