Dubai band Vandalye to support Elton John

Three-piece to open for pop legend on Friday December 8

One of Dubai’s top local bands has been confirmed as the main support act for the long-awaited Elton John gig this weekend.

Dubai-based three-piece Vandalye will be opening for the legendary pianist on Friday December 8 at the Autism Rocks Arena, as the official Red Bull Opening Act. We like this band, and gave them a highly commended award for Best Dubai Act at the Time Out Dubai Music and Nightlife Awards this year.

The band came together two years ago, with the three-piece pushing out catchy, folky piano and guitar-driven sounds. They supported Lionel Richie Back in 2016 at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, and are currently producing their first album in Germany. It’s one of the most rapid ascents of any UAE band in the last few years, and will be bringing their new tracks and folksy vibes to the stage.

Doors for the gig will open at 6pm and, as always, concert-goers are strongly advised to get there as early as possible to avoid queues, get the best spot and the catch the entire evening in full flow.

There are free shuttle busses running after the concert from midnight, dropping off at The Dubai Mall, Deira City Centre and Mall of the Emirates.

For those driving, there is parking on site, and three entrances are available – two on Al Ain Road (E66), and one on Emirates Road (E611), but travelling to and from the venue using RTA taxis or busses are strongly advised.

More information can be found on the 117 Live YouTube channel, here.

Tickets are still available for the concert, available at www.800tickets.com, from Dhs595.
