If you’re looking for a budget-friendly way of ringing in the New Year, the RTA has just come up with a genius way of seeing the city’s best fireworks (and light) displays.
Avoid the rush in Downtown Dubai on Sunday December 31 by heading to the water and taking a boat ride along the Dubai Water Canal.
The RTA says it is “stepping up efforts to offer a new marine transit experience availing riders a superb opportunity to live the thrilling moments of festivities at Burj Khalifa, Burj Al Arab, the Atlantis and Dubai Water Canal” through the use of cruises aboard Dubai water taxis and ferries.
Prices start from just Dhs125 for water bus services, which start from the Terrace and Promenade station and Dubai Marina. Kids under two get on board for free.
Ferry trips from Dubai Marina Mall, Ghubaiba, Dubai Festival City and Sheikh Zayed Road stations cost Dhs300 for silver class and Dhs450 for gold. And it’s half price for kids aged two to ten and free for kids under two.
Abra trips start from Dubai Festival City, Jaddaf and Ghubaiba stations and cost Dhs125 per person, again, kids under two get on free.
