EXCLUSIVE – Tory Lanez to headline Drai’s Dubai this weekend

New date for Canadian rapper’s Dubai gig at Meydan’s day-to-night club

If you were getting excited about seeing Canadian rap sensation Tory Lanez back in February, then it’s good news, because the rapper’s postponed Dubai gig at Drai’s has been confirmed – and it’s happening this weekend.

Lanez was due to open Meydan’s new day-to-night pool club at the start of February, but had to postpone and was replaced by UK garage and R&B star Craig David. Now, Lanez is back and will headline the fun-loving party hotspot on Friday March 16.

His debut studio album I Told You was a huge hit in August 2016, and his singles include Say It and Luv peaked at number 23 and 19 respectively on the Billboard Hot 100.

Having also entertained stars including Nelly, August Alsina, Big Sean, Pia Mia and Fuse ODG, Drai’s is building a pretty solid rep in the industry as a big venue for top urban acts on a Friday night. And unlike a lot of clubs in Dubai, the acts are all on pre-midnight, since the club is open from noon until midnight.

With capacity for up to 2,000 partygoers (and a further 3,000 when the indoor space opens in time for summer), Drai’s is a top spot if you’re on for a big night out, with the neighbouring Soho Garden and Soho Beach sites also kicking off in recent months.

With doors opening at noon, the first 100 ladies in will receive a complimentary sun bed and mixed drinks, and it’s free entry all night.

If you happen to miss Lanez on Friday, then head along to WHITE Dubai just over the other side of Meydan, where he'll be playing on Saturday night. Doors are open from 11, with the club open until 4am.
Free. Fri Mar 16, noon-midnight. Meydan Racecourse, Nad Al Sheba (052 388 885).
