One of the biggest gigs of the year so far has been announced, and Britpop rockers Stereophonics are heading to town on Friday May 11.
The Welsh four-piece, known for massive hits Dakota, Maybe Tomorrow, Have A Nice Day and Bartender and the Thief, will be coming to Dubai Media City Amphitheatre, closing as major leg of their 2018 world tour.
Following the release of their tenth studio album, Scream Above The Sounds, the band returns to Dubai for the first time since 2012, having last played in the city at Sandance festival just under four-and-a-half years ago.
For fans of Stereophonics, this will be a long-awaited return, and promises to be a massive night full of heavy rock, big singalongs and crooning from the gravelly-yet-dulcet tones of Kelly Jones.
Remember this 2004 classic?
It was the band’s only UK number one single to date, but with six number one albums to their name, having headlined festivals the world over and been touring for the 21 years since the release of 1997’s Word Gets Around, a heavy night full of classics is in store.
And if you’re looking forward to new-age ‘Phonics, keep an eye out for this epic…
Early bird tickets are available now, priced at just Dhs299. Thereafter, tickets will be priced at Dhs399 each, and there’s even a Stereophonics brunch package available for Dhs799, with a four-hour unlimited food and drink option available between 1pm and 5pm, if you’re looking to get to the gig early.
This is one of the gigs we can’t wait for, and follows on from a sell-out gig at the Dubai Media City Amphitheatre, when the Backstreet Boys come to town to headline Blended festival on April 20.
Get this on your list, don’t miss out, and have a nice day (get it?).
