Forget Oktoberfest, Maifest is coming to Dubai

Think oompah music and pretzels – all in a tent

Bars, Nightlife & Music

Think Oktoberfest is the only festival Germany celebrates?

Well, the Europeans are always up for a good party, and where there’s a party, there is sure to be plenty of food and drink.

Maifest is the traditional German celebration that marks the arrival of spring and it is back at Grand Hyatt Dubai for its sixth year running.

A huge tent will be put up in the hotel grounds, making room for banter, cheers, oompah and pretzels that you’d expect.

For a more German atmosphere, dance and sing along to the tunes of the traditional Die Kirchdorfer band, flown in all the way from Munich to help celebrate spring.

Enjoy German favourites such as kalbsbratwurst German sausage, asparagus, erdbeerschnitten dessert cake or veal schnitzel and the finest German hops in the air-conditioned Maifest tent.

There will even be traditionally dressed waiters and waitresses completing the authentic atmosphere. You may just think you’re in Germany after all.

You don't even need a ticket - simply book a table and order from the à la carte menu or enjoy one of the special Saturday Brunches.

Oktoberfest is a while away, but if you can't wait already then check out where to celebrate in style.
