Dubai's Societe nightclub is closing

It comes despite a revamp back in 2017

After years of treating the city to cheesy pop music and cheap drinks deals, Societe Dubai is closing down on Friday 27 April.

Opening its doors in December 2013, it was once considered a top places to head at the end of a great night out in the Marina.

The closure follows a revamp back in 2017, which saw classy furniture and intimate seating areas installed.

Over the years, the venue has hosted 90s acts including S Club, Liberty X, B*Witched, Fatman Scoop and 5ive.

But it's not over just yet. Societe will be going all-out, with a series of closing parties set to take place from now until Friday 27 April.

While full details are yet to be revealed, if history is anything to go by you can expect to see some fabulous deals.

To take your mind off its closure, there are loads of new nightclubs in Dubai that you can check out.

Among the recently opening venues are US superclub 1 Oak and Gotha, which opened last weekend.

Gotha is where Time Out Dubai will be hosting its Music & Nightlife Awards After-Party, by the way...
