Getting ready for the World Cup?

If, like us here at Time Out, you’re getting overwhelmingly excited for the arrival of the month-long festival of footie (and inevitable heartbreak most of us will experience), then we’ve found the perfect place for you to spend this year’s FIFA World Cup.

When the big kick-off arrives on Thursday June 14, Barasti will be throwing an opening party for the World Cup inside what it’s calling the Barasti “SuperDome”, which will be the club’s fan zone for this year’s tournament.

With the club expecting “thousands of people” there for kick-off, it says up to 8,000 people will be able to fit into the dome, which will be located down on the beach. The SuperDome will be open alongside the award-winning beach club’s air-conditioned tent on the middle deck, which opens for summer every year.

That means Barasti will be effectively hosting two fan zones for the World Cup, and as well as all the sporting action, there will be live DJs, massive lighting and visual effects rigs, giant screens and more.

So whether you’re going to be catching the game down on the beach in the dome, or on the middle deck in front of the enormous central TV screen (which stands at an impressive 12 metres wide), you’re hardly going to miss a single second of the action.

Derryn French, director of marketing at the Mina Seyahi Complex, said it’s going to be the best football experience ever in the city.

“This summer the Barasti SuperDome is bigger and better than ever and together with our partners we believe that we will be delivering the best high energy football experience that Dubai has seen.”

We can’t wait. Bring it on.

Open Sat-Wed 10am-1am; Thu-Fri 10am-2.30am. Le Méridien Mina Seyahi Beach Resort & Marina, King Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud Street (04 318 1313).
