Hot off the heels of announcing Morcheeba as part of its post-summer line-up (on Wednesday October 31), Dubai Opera has announced an iconic singer-songwriter will be playing a one-off gig.
Having sold more than seven million records through a career spanning more than 30 years, Suzanne Vega will be performing for one night only on Thursday July 5 at Downtown Dubai’s brilliant venue.
Perhaps best known for tracks including Tom’s Diner (latterly sampled by Fall Out Boy in the 2014 hit Centuries), Luka and Marlene On The Wall, Vega will be performing a special gig running through her back-catalogue of hits.
How about Luka?
During her career, Vega has picked up seven Grammy Award nominations, including for Song of the Year, Record of the Year, Best Female Pop Vocal Performance, and one win for her 1990 album Days of Open Hand.
“I am so delighted the legendary Suzanne Vega has agreed to grace the Dubai Opera stage this July and I know the audiences here are in for a real treat,” said Jasper Hope, Chief Executive at Dubai Opera.
Tickets are on sale from 4pm on Wednesday May 16, priced at Dhs195 – but there’s a 20 percent discount on VIP, gold and platinum tickets if you book in before Wednesday May 30, so you’ll be able to pick up tickets for as little as Dhs156.
