Imelda May to play at Dubai Opera

Following announcements that Dubai Opera will be playing host to UK trip-hop trio Morcheeba in October, and iconic US singer-songwriter Suzanne Vega in July, another top performer is set to come to town later this year.

Irish singer Imelda May, whose back catalogue of hits includes Johnny Got A Boom Boom, Should’ve Been You and Big Bad Handsome Man, will be performing at Dubai Opera on Friday November 2.

Here’s a little bit of what you can expect from May’s performance, with this taken from her performance on Later… with Jools Holland in 2014.

And here’s her take on Tainted Love:

A multi-award winner, RTÉ Radio 1 – Ireland’s top radio station – in 2010 proclaimed her third studio album, Mayhem, Album of the Year. May has worked with some incredible names in the studio, with recording collaborations including Tom Jones, Jeff Beck and Meat Loaf – while she’s also shared a stage with some of the most influential names in the music industry, including U2, David Gilmour, Elvis Costello and top Irish band Kodaline.

May is a lively performer with an incredibly powerful voice, and you can now see her performing her top hits, as well as material from her most recent album Life Love Flesh Blood.

Tickets are available now at www.dubaiopera.com, with prices starting from Dhs120 for the night.

Don’t miss out on the opportunity to see a top Irish performer live in Dubai.
From Dhs120. Fri Nov 2, 8pm. Dubai Opera, Downtown Dubai, www.dubaiopera.com.
