See top comedians in the Laughter Factory’s July shows

Jimmy Shubert, Nick Beaton and Sally-Anne Hayward will take to the stage

While the rising temperatures might not be funny, this certainly is.

If you’ve had quite enough of the World Cup, thank you very much, The Laughter Factory is bringing a whole host of top comedians to Dubai this month, and we’re ready to chuckle so hard that our sunglasses fall off.

First on the line-up for the comedy club’s Summer of Laughter is one of America’s top standups, Jimmy Shubert, who we’re promised will “knock a few cobwebs off our humid, wet brains”. Sounds ideal.

He is well-known in the USA after appearances on TV shows King of Queens and Entourage as well as the stage.

Shubert himself adds: “I like to entertain people in any form under any circumstances.

“Whether it’s in a sold-out three-thousand seat theatre or in the middle of a war zone in Afghanistan, or doing close up magic in an intimate setting.

“My mission is to make ’em laugh as hard as I can.”

Joining him with be Nick Beaton, whose last show at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival drew a string of five-star reviews, and Sally-Anne Hayward, who is a regular compere at the comedy tent at the Glastonbury festival.

Beaton is described as a blue-collar comedian whose everyman persona cuts through the bureaucracy of modern life.

Hayward is another performer with a string of small-screen credits to her name, but is most at home with mic in hand and on stage.

Her confident wit is cutting and she’s supported the likes of Sarah Milican, Russell Howard and Russell Kane on tour.

And there are plenty of chances to see this stellar line-up, because the show is touring round top venues in Dubai, starting with the Mövenpick JBR at 9pm on Thursday July 12th.

The next night it's at Jumeirah Islands Club at 7pm and back to the Mövenpick Hotel Jumeirah Beach in JBR at 9pm.

Then on Wednesday July 18, the whole show moves over to Abu Dhabi's Park Rotana for an 8pm start, before returning to ON42 at Media One at 7pm the next day (Thursday July 19).

Later that night at 9pm, the show kicks off at Grand Millennium Barsha Heights. It then heads to the Jumeirah Golf Estate on Friday July 20 and starts at 7pm.

We’ll be the ones cackling away in the front row.
