Anti-VIP nightclub opening in Dubai Marina

Industrial Avenue promises a stripped-back, raw clubbing experience

Anti-VIP nightclub opening in Dubai Marina

A brand-new(ish) nightclub is coming to Dubai Marina, and the best bit is that it’ll be smashing its way onto the city’s nightlife scene in just one week’s time, on Wednesday August 1.

You may remember Industrial Avenue, formerly a part of the now-closed China Grill at The Westin Dubai Mina Seyahi Beach Resort & Marina. Well the bar, which used to pride itself on being something of a speakeasy, is re-opening as a nightclub, and it’s making some big noises about its back-to-basics approach to clubbing.

Forget about sparklers, forget roped-off VIP tables. You can also forget about luxurious furniture or décor, because according to the team behind Industrial Avenue this place is for real fans of music, with the venue “paying homage to the days when clubbing was about connecting with others and the DJ/artist”.

We’re excited about this opening, and the club is set to swing open its doors and blare out some heavy beats on Wednesday August 1. It’ll be open to the public from 11pm on the night itself, but regular opening hours will be 9pm-3am from Wednesday to Friday.

“Our aim is to offer an alternative nightlife option to the VIP culture that Dubai knows well,” said Adam Cotier, creative director for the Industrial Avenue project. “Industrial Avenue gives the dancefloor back to the people. Our stripped back underground décor is our biggest signal of intent; we are not hiding behind anything. Our focus is and always will be the music, the people and creating cool and unique experiences.”

Expect a range of cracking music experiences, and while there will be tables available, the majority of the venue will be taken up by a huge dancefloor in the middle.

This is an exciting, alternative venue opening up in the heart of New Dubai, so don’t miss its arrival on Wednesday August 1.
Free. Wed Aug 1, 11pm-3am. Regular opening hours Wed-Fri 9pm-3am. The Westin Dubai Mina Seyahi Beach Resort & Marina, King Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud Street (04 511 7139).
