A brunch with a buffet, picnic, cooking stations and kids’ activities? You can tick all of these boxes because that’s exactly what Bab Al Shams Desert Resort & Spa’s recently launched Saturday feast has. The 360 Nature Brunch brings everything mums, dads and kiddies love in one place.

Held on Saturdays, you’ll arrive at Al Forsan restaurant first, from where hotel staff will take you to your dedicated picnic spot in the spacious garden.

A picnic blanket, comfortable cushions and a traditional picnic hamper await, and they’re filled with mouthwatering appetisers including a variety of salads, bread, cold cuts, cheese and pastries to start you off in this culinary journey.

The live cooking stations are spread across the garden. From a burger stop offering vegetarian and non-vegetarian as well as an Italian station with mouthwatering pizzas, there’s no shortage of yummy food here. What’s more, barbecue-lovers will get to choose from the finest of land and sea with a range of prime steak cuts and fresh seafood.

Kids will stay entertained, so that mum and dad can have a completely stress-free experience, with fun activities as well as a  supervised, dedicated kids’ area. They can take part in pony and camel rides, and visit the petting zoo and bouncy castle, too.
Grown-ups can sit back and enjoy the live guitarist, who will be playing famous British tunes throughout brunch. Best of all, it all takes place in a desert oasis, away from the hustle and bustle of the busy city.

You can also check out Bab Al Shams’ Garden Brunch on Fridays. Stretched across the palatial interiors and titular grassy area, The Garden Brunch has foodie delights everywhere you look. From traditional Arabic fare including delicious, made-to-order chicken shawarma wraps to tightly-packed Chinese dim sum, and everything in between.

There are seafood options like jambalaya, beef brisket and other meaty cuts to satisfy you. Oh, and there’s a fantastic line-up of tangy sauces to go with it all, too. We might just stay overnight...
Dhs190 (soft drinks), half price (kids aged five to 12), free (kids aged up to four years old). Sat 1pm-4pm. Al Qudra Road, babalshams.com (04 809 6194).
