One-off vegan iftar coming to Dubai’s The Daily restaurant

There are plenty of fantastic iftars popping up over the city this Ramadan, and now there’s something especially for plant-eaters.

The Daily restaurant at Rove Healthcare City is laying on a fully vegan iftar, featuring five courses of plant-based dishes from vegan chef Zendy Marsam and grains and superfoods from Rootz Organic.

The one-off iftar will take place on Saturday May 25 and it costs just Dhs99 for adults and Dhs49 for kids.

The restaurant is laying on the iftar in conjunction with Dubai Vegan Days, which has hosted a number of vegan dining experiences at The Daily.

The fast will be broken with a traditional date medley, featuring natural water, dates stuffed with pistachio and a date with orange and pecan.

Then it’s time for the “Fluid Replacement Course” offering soups, smoothies and nutritional drinks expertly crafted to break your fast in a healthy manner.

The next course is all about the veggies, with a sprawling salad buffet, fresh fruits, vegetables, vegan dressings and more.

The “Grains and Protein” course will feature roasted tempeh with smoked barbecue sauce, mushroom, barley and okra sauce, jackfruit curry with millet and a load of side dishes.

Last but not least, for dessert you’ll be able to enjoy some refreshing watermelon and a chocolate orange cake.

Sounds like the perfect Saturday night for plant-based eaters.
