Common Grounds launches a healthy plant-based iftar menu

This Ramadan, the chefs at Common Grounds in Mall of the Emirates have created a special plant-based iftar menu featuring an array of wholesome and sustainable dishes.

Expect grilled cheese sandwiches made using vegan mozzarella, miso-roasted aubergine with tahini, sushi rolls, ‘boneless buffalo wings’ (AKA barbecued cauliflower), tempura ‘fish’ tacos made with heart of palm, a black bean and sesame burger and a vegan omelette created with Portobello mushrooms. You had us a grilled cheese sandwiches.

If you have a sweet tooth, desserts include plant-based chocolate cheesecake and coconut ice-cream, so make sure to leave space for a sweet treat. The vegan-friendly menu won’t break the bank either with dishes coming in at an average of Dhs40 to Dhs55. For groups dining together, the iftar menu features all vegan dishes however there are still non-vegan options available.

The health-conscious café has also partnered up with One Good Thing, a home-grown e-commerce brand that sells sustainable products with “a social conscience”. There will be a pop-shop selling sustainable gits made using recycled materials.

The special iftar menu is only available at the Mall of the Emirates branch with the DIFC and JLT outlets operating business as usual.
