Iftars in Downtown, Business Bay and Al Habtoor City for Ramadan 2018

These restaurants are offering special events for the important period

Ramadan

Downtown, Business Bay & Al Habtoor City are among some of Dubai's most modern areas, but there's still plenty of places to enjoy traditional cuisine during Ramadan 2018.

We've rounded up the best places for iftar during this important period in the following list.

Some are offering Middle Eastern cuisine in a buffet format, while others feature contemporary and fusion twists on the traditional iftar meal.

Traditionally, the fast is broken with dates and a small drink of either water, juice or Arabic coffee, before prayers are undertaken, following which iftar is served.

Often, Emirati families put on big evening meals for all their family and friends – you’ll sometimes see iftar tents pop up outside big villas – though many also dine out at restaurants across the city which host special events.

The meal usually starts with soup – such as shorbat (lentil soup) – before mains are brought out, featuring rice, salads, grilled meats and more, and finally a selection of sweets treats for dessert.
