The Ramadan 2024 start date is one of the most significant days in the calendar for anyone living in Dubai.
And it is now confirmed that Ramadan in Dubai will begin on Monday March 11, 2024.
The crescent moon has been sighted on Sunday evening, meaning March 10 is the last day of the month of Sha’ban and Ramadan will begin the following day.
This is also the first time since the year 2000, that Ramadan in Dubai will be observed during the wintertime.
Ramadan 2024 start date: What happens now?
During Ramadan, Muslims are required to elevate their level of spiritual and physical submission to their faith by way of fasting.
The abstention from eating and drinking is intended to last from dawn until dusk throughout the 29 or 30-day period.

During Ramadan, working hours are cut short for both the public and private sectors.
It’s also been confirmed by the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) that school days will be shorter during Ramadan.
Most schools will start between 8am and 9am, and finish between 1pm and 2pm.
Now that the Ramadan 2024 start date is confirmed, many Dubai residents are wondering when Eid Al Fitr will begin.
It is important to note that the exact date of the end of Ramadan will be determined by religious scholars under the cover of night toward the end of the lunar month.
Only when the UAE’s Moon-sighting committee spots the crescent will the date of Eid Al Fitr be officially confirmed.
