WINNER: BB Social Dining

This cool restaurant boasts funky interiors and lovely al fresco terraces. Take a seat on the roof for a cosy meal and you’ll be thrilled. The menu has innovative, fun dishes, with quirks on the usual such as edamame hummus and cauliflower popcorn. It prides itself on its bao buns and bowls (as the BB suggests), while the desserts are awesome, too.

HIGHLY COMMENDED: Axe House

This casual Brit-themed eatery has burst onto the JLT scene. Don’t miss the shortrib, it’s excellent. The halloumi fries are ace, too.

HIGHLY COMMENDED: Lock, Stock & Barrel JBR – The Walk

A massive version of the Barsha Heights original (winner of our Bar Food of the Year category), this newer sibling keeps up the good name when it comes to food. Monster nachos, curries, flatbreads, hummus. Whatever your taste, you’ll find it here.

SHORTLISTED: Arjee Bhajee

A low-key British-style curry house that’s good for chicken tikka masala and a pint.

David Myers’ BASTA! is a Roman trattoria meets Florentine steakhouse meets Neapolitan pizzeria.

A licensed venue that stands in the place that formerly held Spike Bar in Emirates Golf Club. Specialises in breakfasts, as well as decent burgers and a wicked mac and cheese. Also hosting cheese nights. Stop by the deli counter on your way out.

SHORTLISTED: Moombai & Co Café & Bar

Cute Parsi-style café serving up a range of authentic street food dishes. Service is slick and friendly and dishes are top-notch, too.

SHORTLISTED: Via Vita

This cute café in JLT offers some excellent pizzas and pasta dishes. Set in a handy place right by the lake, this is particularly popular for lunch. The interiors are charming, too.
