Dubai’s best Lebanese restaurants 2020

WINNER

Ibn AlBahr
This restaurant’s tagline is ‘run by fishermen’, and you won’t want to miss out on the fresh seafood here. There’s a fish market where you can pick your own to be freshly prepared, and the rest of the menu is a hit with seafood-lovers, too. Mezze-wise the hummus and vine leaves are our favourites.
Open daily noon-midnight. Club Vista Mare, Palm Jumeirah, www.ibnalbahr.me (04 553 9575).

HIGHLY COMMENDED

Al Safadi
There are four Al Safadis dotted about Dubai, and we can see why this chain has proven to be so successful. You’ll get to wolf down great Lebanese food in a casual setting here.
Open daily 8am-2am. Umm Al Sheif (04 343 5333).

Babel
La Mer’s dining scene is certainly booming, and Babel is undoubtedly one of the highlights. Pop in for delicious seafood right next to the beach. The fresh catch is simple and delicious, the garlickly prawns are moreish and the views are superb. Lebanese seafood at its best.
Open daily noon-midnight. La Mer, Jumeirah 1 (04 419 0220).

SHORTLISTED

Al Nafoorah
If you feel like treating your partner on date night (or just yourself, no judgement here), there’s no better spot than Al Nafoorah. You can expect authentic and incredible Lebanese food from previous Time Out Dubai award-winner. The hummus is a must-try.
Open Sun-Thu noon-3.30pm, 6pm-11.30pm, Fri-Sat noon-4pm, 6pm-11.30pm. Jumeirah Emirates Towers, Sheikh Zayed Road, www.jumeirah.com (04 319 8760).

Ayam Elezz
Step into Ayam Elezz and you’ll find yourself inside a 1960s Lebanese home, complete with traditional dishes made with that special homemade touch.
Open Sun-Wed 9am-12.30am, Thu-Sat 9am-1am. The Mall, Jumeirah Beach Road, www.ayamelezz.com (04 388 0380).

Bebabel
If you’re looking for top-notch Lebanese nosh at The Dubai Mall, look no further than Bebabel. It’s run by the same team as Babel and is just as delicious, if in a more casual setting. Don’t worry, you’ll still get fantastic views, just of the fountains rather than the beach.
Open daily 10am-midnight. Fashion Avenue, The Dubai Mall (04 419 0950).

Enab Beirut
Don’t be overwhelmed by the menu at Enab Beirut, the waiters will be more than happy to help you navigate their delicious dishes. There’s loads to try at this City Walk spot and we’d suggest you get stuck into the mezze.
Open Sat-Wed 9am-midnight, Thu-Fri 9am-1am. City Walk, www.citywalk.ae (04 343 2707).

Nurai
Offering up views of Dubai Water Canal, this Lebanese café is the place to be in Business Bay. You could eat here for breakfast, lunch and dinner and not get bored of the food.
Open daily 10am-5am. West Wharf Tower, Business Bay (04 367 9980).

Villa Beirut
Whether you’re a first timer or a Lebanese food connoisseur you’ll find something to love about Villa Beirut. The staff are incredibly helpful, and know exactly what to suggest, and the food itself is incredible.
Open daily 10am-1am. Jumeirah Street, www.villabeirut.com (04 341 1310).

Zahr El-Laymoun
Enjoy casual dining and a diverse menu offering Lebanese and Middle Eastern cuisine, from shawarma platters and cold and hot mezze to grilled kibbeh and salads. Plus, it has a prime location at Souk Al Bahar, which makes it a hit with visitors.
Open daily 10am-1am. Souk Al Bahar, www.zahrellaymoun.com (04 448 6060).
