Time Out Says
However, it’s not only maintained standards, it’s even improved into its third year of operation, leading to it picking up Best Asian in the 2019 event.
The space is small, with room for only two dozen covers inside and a handful more outside looking out over the sleepy, swaying boats in Jumeirah Fishing Harbour. Neighbour Bu Qtair has mastered the art of simplicity – serving just two options of fish or prawns and sides to hordes of hungry diners every week for rock bottom prices. It’s with great, lip-smacking pleasure that 3 Fils also has this simplicity, albeit with a more exciting dishes.
The menu has just 25 items, including desserts, and each is prepared right in front of you in the open kitchen in the corner. The small number of dishes allows the chefs to give their ultimate consideration to every single element. Nothing is out of place, nothing is lacklustre, everything has a purpose.
Sushi is fresh, delicious and good value – surpassing offerings from fancier restaurants in the city.
The menu is playful, staff make excellent recommendations and while seafood is the main star here, meat-lovers have plenty to choose from including barbecue pulled beef on corn waffles, beef carpaccio and lamb ribs.
3 fils set the bar high when it opened in 2017 and it’s only raised it since.
