New Canadian pop-up restaurant opens in Dubai’s Times Square Center

Think pancakes, poutine and lots of maple syrup

There’s a new food pop-up that’s sprung up for summer and it’s bringing all of the Canadian vibes our way.

Pinch My Summer is now open in Times Square Center in Al Quoz and the Montreal-style dining experience has certainly caught our attention.

A glance at the restaurant’s menu shows dishes including fluffy pancakes served with Canadian maple syrup, spicy fried chicken with gravy (and more maple syrup), and Montreal-style French toast with chocolate sauce and caramelised bananas. Those Canadians certainly know how to eat.

The pop-up is the work of catering company, Pinch Gourmet, which specialises in fusing and reinventing traditional cuisines from across the world.

The menu is fun, casual, and prone to change depending on seasonality of produce (and mood of the chef).

You’ll be able to get your Canadian food fix every day between 9am and 9pm and you can whet your appetite by looking at the restaurant’s Instagram snaps here.

We can’t wait to try it out – and hope the chefs in a generous mood.

And if you’re looking for more Canadian food to keep you going, make a date at Weslodge Saloon. Perched high on the 68th floor of JW Marriott Marquis Dubai, you’ll be sure to get some top views alongside your dinner.

And throughout August you can take advantage of a special deal, especially for barbecue fans. The new “B-BBQ, Bucket & Barbecue” night offers up flame-grilled cuts for Dhs395 per couple, along with a bucket of icy brews for Dhs195.

If that doesn’t have you singing “O Canada” we don’t know what will.
Open daily 9am-9pm. Times Square Center, Al Quoz (04 884 2554).
