Dubai restaurants celebrate Jamaican Independence Day

Get special discounts and deals at Ting Irie and Miss Lily’s

It’s Jamaican Independence Day (Monday August 6) and to celebrate, two of the city’s top Jamaican restaurants are pulling out all the stops to offer Dubai dwellers a night of Caribbean food and music.

Time Out Dubai’s Best North American & Caribbean Restaurant Miss Lily’s DXB, will be celebrating with an evening of “dinner, drinks and culture”.

The restaurant at Sheraton Grand Dubai, on Sheikh Zayed Road, will be laying on a special menu with dishes including hot pepper roti and Jamaican escovitch fish with bammy (traditional Jamaican cassava flatbread). The set menu is just Dhs160 and there will be special deals on Jamaican beverages for the night, too.

Meanwhile Ting Irie – at Souk Al Manzil in Downtown Dubai – is inviting you to don your best Caribbean outfit (or simply come dressed in the colours of the Jamaican flag) to get 30 percent off your bill. You can dig into authentic dishes including curried coat, oxtail cocobread sandwiches, chips o’mon burgers and spitfiyah jerk chicken.

And once you’ve had your fill of spicy food, it’s time to get your dance on as DJ Ranger is taking to the decks, playing all things Jamrock.

Don’t miss it.
