The art to cooking a perfect, sizzling steak can be a tricky one at times, so it’s a good thing Cuisinero Uno, known for its stand-out Mediterranean food, is offering just the cooking class.

Throughout August, the trendy Business Bay tapas bar is having hands-on "Culinary Masterclasses" on steaks and paella, with the option of choosing either one of them.

Headed by Chef John Buenaventura, former finalist in Time Out Dubai’s Young Chef of the Year contest, each class will show students "basic kitchen skills and in-depth knowledge of different marination techniques".

Foodies will have the choice of picking a standard cooking session for Dhs350, or a customised class for Dhs400, for those looking to learn more about a specific dish they want to try.

All the ingredients and tools will be provided, so all you have to bring is a thirst for cooking knowledge. Speaking of thirst, soft beverages will also be served to keep you hydrated.

After going through all the effort of making the dish, you’ll be able to taste the fruits (or meats) of your labour by having your food after the lesson.

Each masterclass will run daily from 11am until 2pm, with six participants per session. As for the customised classes, groups will have to book three days in advance.

Dishes made at the standard classes will change on a monthly basis, so be sure to check back.

While you’re there, you may as well try out check out Emirati, Mediterranean and Asian-inspired tapas dishes Cuisinero Uno has.

Fancy learning the ways of making the perfect brunch instead? There’s a class for that at Top Chef Cooking Studio, along with homemade pasta sessions and more.

It's time to don those chef's whites and turn you hand to cooking.
Dhs350 (masterclass), Dhs400 (customised class). Classes: Open daily 11am-2pm. Cuisinero Uno: Open Sat-Wed 11am-midnight; Thu-Fri 11am-2am. Second floor, Steigenberger Hotel, Business Bay (04 431 7816).
