Bistrot Bagatelle launches new menu

The French restaurant has kept its old favourites though

There’s the old saying, “if it aint broke, don’t fix it”. And very often we’ll agree. However, from time to time things need a shake-up, and when it comes to menus, we’re all in favour of a little change. Bistrot Bagatelle seems to agree, as the popular restaurant has launched some new dishes.

It’s not an entirely new menu (so fret not fans of the deliciously indulgent yet fiery lobster linguine or the famously pungent black truffle pizza) but a few items are enough to make us take notice.

And given it picked up a Highly Commended title in the Best French Restaurant category at our awards this year, we’re hoping for bon things from the offerings that are “inspired by French classics with Bagatelle’s own twist”.

New dishes include pétales d’endives au bleu (endive salad with pine nuts and blue cheese) and poulet sauce chasseur (chicken with a mushroom sauce).

And there’s also a maïs fumée et burrata tortellini. The smoked corn and burrata-stuffed pasta is finished with brown butter bleu blanc and fried sage. And if it’s as delicious as it looks, we’ll be très heureux.

“We are very excited about the new menu,” says chef Timothy Newton. “I think we’re doing somthing very different and you can expect super fresh ingredients, deep flavours, and quality products.”

The cool restaurant not only boasts great food, it also has a fun vibe – so head down late for the party (and an order of pasta).
