Scoopi Café is shaking things up with new liquid nitrogen shakes

The ice cream venue is launching four brand-new flavours

Temperatures are still on the toasty side, so what better way to chill out than the coldest treat of all – a liquid nitrogen ice cream shake?

Scoopi Café on Jumeirah Beach Road has announced a new range of flavours for its icy treat, made by freezing the hand-made ice cream with liquid nitrogen at a temperature of -196 degrees Celsius. Now that’s chilly.

First up is the charcoal ice-cream shake, but it’s not what you think.

The mysterious black treat packs a fruit punch of lemon and blueberries, created using edible food grade charcoal. It’s topped with lemon zest shavings for little extra kick.

The popular Belgian biscuit is also getting the shake treatment with the Lotus Ice cream shake – packed with caramel taste the snack is famous for.

Need an icy pick-me-up? Scoopi Café will also be introducing the mocha espresso ice cream shake, mixing a thick blend of chocolate syrup with dark espresso and ice cream.

Last, but far from least, is the Oreo ice cream shake, blending Oreo cookies, generous amounts of ice cream and a short measure of milk. It’s created by being “poured into a huge glass jar and topped with Oreo crumble and biscuits.” Yum.

Priced at Dhs45 each, the shakes are available right now over at the family-owned company’s branch on Jumeirah Beach Road, open from 1.30pm until 12.30am on weekdays and until 2am on weekends.

Have expensive tastes? The café also offers its signature “The Black Diamond,” made with vanilla bean ice cream from Madagascar, saffron from Iran and black truffles from Italy.

Oh, and 23-karat gold flakes and powder. It will set you back Dhs2,999, so we can see why it’s called the most expensive ice cream in Dubai.

Scoopi Café also has a branch in Dubai Marina Mall, with a new locations due to open up in Ras Al Khaimah in 2018.

The Time Out Dubai team went to try some weird and wonderful ice cream flavours over at iScream in La Mer. We definitely screamed for it…
