Dubai's Perry & Blackwelder’s launches monster shakes and burger

Madinat Jumeirah smokehouse shakes things up with its brand-new freakshakes and metre-long hot dogs

Finding it hard to quench that super-sized appetite? Well, Perry & Blackwelder’s now has you covered, as it’s upsizing its menu to mega proportions.

Souk Madinat Jumeirah’s smokehouse has introduced an Americana-themed menu, featuring a 700-gram burger and a metre-long hot dog, along with its first-ever line-up of freakshakes – and these chilly desserts don’t hold back.

Milkshake fans can choose from options including the super freaky Freakshake which has 1.5 litres of thick chocolate milkshake topped with toasted marshmallows, ice cream cones, chocolate brownie, doughnuts, wafers and even more chocolate.

There’s also the chocolate-based Mississippi mud shake, the rainbow-like Unicorn strawberry shake with fruit sweets, white chocolate and cotton candy, along with the vanilla-flavoured Bee’s Knees with honeycomb syrup and waffles.

If you’re more savoury than sweet, P&B’s is also offering a new list of southern-inspired dishes, and you’ll want to make room in your belly for all of them.

There’s the 700-gram prime beef patty burger to get your chops around, a metre-long Gutter Dog served with the venue’s signature toppings, a 500-gram ‘Cowboy Steak’ rib-eye on the bone and Louisiana-style shrimp po’ boy served with potato skins.

The Time Out Dubai team are pretty well accustomed to metre-long hotdogs, we’re just not very good at finishing them off…

The restaurant will also be serving up a new drinks menu, with a tomato and beetroot-based mixed drink served in a burger cup and an espresso-based drink topped with salted popcorn served in a retro striped popcorn box.

As for entertainment, guests can boogie down to the Boxtones Trio on Wingman Wednesdays (where there are unlimited wings for Dhs99) from 9pm until midnight, while blues-rock band Lady J & the Royal Vagabonds perform on Thursday nights to get people into the groove.

Speaking of all things super-sized, Atlantis The Palm’s megabrunch is making a grand return this December, and early bird tickets are out right now.

We’ll be the ones with ketchup dribbling down our chins.
Open daily noon-2am. Souk Madinat Jumeirah, Umm Suqeim (04 432 3232).
