ubk launches new brunch and ladies' night

If you’ve been affected by the rollercoaster journey Axe House is on – don’t suffer in silence.

Did you know there’s a safe place you can go to just a short skip down JLT’s winding roads?

That’s right, valiantly filling the too-cool-for-pool (but not really, because we still want to play pool) and hipster, laid-back bar vibes is urban bar & kitchen – and it now boasts new opening hours, a new brunch and a cracking ladies’ night.

UBK is calling all “urbanites” – people who live nearby, we presume – to gather around on Fridays for The Urban Brunch.

If noon’s too early for brunching you’re in luck, the three-hour party runs from 2pm to 5pm and promises a barbecue pit, free-flowing drinks and live entertainment.

Food includes empanadas, chorizo sausage, fish tacos, nachos, calamari and more.

Costing just Dhs265 for house beverages, it’s one of the cheaper brunches in town (Dhs149 for soft drinks) and is followed by a brilliant value ladies’ night.

From 8pm to 10pm on Friday, girls can mixed unlimited selected beverages, mixed drinks and nibbles for just Dhs75.

You’ll find all the usual games for big kids including giant Jenga, foosball, darts and pool, plus 19 screens beaming out the big games.

And, when you’re pining for the next Time Out Pub Quiz you can sharpen your game by joining in UBK’s Monday quiz night.

It’s free to enter and you can win Dhs1,000 worth of short drinks or brunch for four.

Or, if you prefer a food-based challenge instead, you can still take on the one metre-long hot dog.

The mega-dog has four different toppings and fries and costs Dhs149, however if you finish it within 30 minutes it’s totally free – see how two of the Time Out team fared when they attempted it earlier this year.

See you on the terrace, urbanites.
Sat-Wed 2pm-2am; Thu-Fri 2pm-3am. Mövenpick Hotel Jumeirah Lakes Towers, Cluster A, JLT (04 438 0000).
