Din Tai Fung to open 'upmarket' branch with views of The Dubai Fountain

Popular dim sum restaurant Din Tai Fung is opening a new upmarket branch – with outdoor seating and views of The Dubai Fountain.

The Taiwanese chain plans to open the restaurant in December, adding to the two it already has in the city.

The team told Time Out Dubai that it will be the "most luxurious" so far, with a bright colour scheme and plush furniture rather than the stripped-back and casual feel of the Mall of the Emirates and Al Ghurair Centre branches.

However, dim sum fans will be pleased to hear that it will still be serving the same menu at the same prices, meaning you'll be able to get a whole basket of dumplings for around Dhs40.

There will also be a few new surprise additions to the menu, which we can't wait to try.

And in even more exciting news, after an initial launch period the branch is planning to take reservations, which will be a first for Din Tai Fung.

Currently, diners need to wait an average of 45 minutes at the Mall of the Emirates branch during peak periods before getting a table and ordering that delicious dim sum.

Stay tuned to Time Out Dubai for updates – we'll be bringing you all the latest, faster than you can eat a xiao long bao.
Coming soon. The Dubai Mall, Downtown Dubai.
