New Italian restaurant to open on the Palm

All’Onda coming to Emerald Palace Kempinski Dubai in December

Palm Jumeirah is fast becoming a go-to spot for all things foodie – and now there’s a brand-new Italian restaurant opening at Emerald Palace Kempinski Dubai.

All’Onda is a Venetian-style Italian, serving “traditional dishes with a twist”, and is due to open at the hotel in December. The restaurant will have a chic design and will cover the whole top floor of the hotel. The 108-seat indoor space even depicts a boat shaped structure, and is kitted out with wooden gondolas and oars, to make you (kind of) feel as if you’re on the Grand Canal.

All’Onda comes from top US chef Chris Jaeckle, who was behind the original outlet in New York, which closed in 2016. The Dubai restaurant will boast views of the city skyline, as well as an interesting and innovative menu packed full of seafood, pasta, risottos and Venetian chicchetti – little bites served with drinks. There will also be a grape list from Northern Italy.

It will serve up dishes that blend Italian and Venetian cuisine with Japanese influences. So far, so interesting. Highlights on the menu including buffalo ricotta ravioli with vine tomato sauce and basil, peppered beef tagliata with soft burrata and a herby pangrattato, ossobuco with saffron risotto and risotto All’Onda, made with madras curry, prawns and shiso.

“The exceptional All’Onda offering has been loved by New Yorkers for so many years and it is a pleasure to finally have the opportunity to bring the restaurant’s famous flavours to one of the world’s most exciting culinary destinations,” said Jaeckle.

“Most people aren’t aware of the exceptional similarities between Italian Venetian and Japanese cuisine and the All’Onda menu is the perfect showcase of this unique blend. The anticipated launch of All’Onda is just the beginning for us as we’re very excited to launch the restaurant’s brunch and aperitivo night offering early next year, which we know will quickly become a must visit in Dubai.”

Emerald Palace Kempinski Dubai is opening on the Palm on Friday November 29. Located on the West Crescent, the 100,000 sq m beach resort has 389 rooms and suites, eight top restaurants and bars, a 3,000 sq m spa, a state-of the-art gym and yoga studio, a 500m private beach and an 80-seat private cinema. The super-swanky interiors of the hotel are inspired by the 18th century and the ballroom even comes walls in hand-painted gold leaf.

As well as All’onda there will be miX by Alain Ducasse. The famous chef’s first UAE restaurant will be spread over three floors and feature a seasonal menu using local produce.

There will also be Le Jardin, a buffet restaurant serving breakfast and dinner, plus Villamoré – a laid-back Mediterranean restaurant and lounge as well as Matagi, a “stylish, contemporary Asian dining destination”.

And you love Italian food, you’ll be excited to learn that there’s a new restaurant from the team behind our Restaurant of the Year, Il Borro Tuscan Bistro. Alici, a brand-new Italian-seafood, will be opening at Bluewaters island early next year. Watch this space.
