Copper Chimney, which has a 46-year history in India, is now open in Dubai.

The restaurant started out in Bombay, and has now launched in the Millennium Plaza Hotel on Sheikh Zayed Road.

Copper Chimney can seat 130 diners and serves up a range of small plates, using custom-made tandoors, which are the stars of the open kitchen.

Meat cuts are marinated for more than eight hours before being cooked in the tandoor, and we’re promised secret spice mixes and recipes that have been passed down through generations.

"Over the past four decades, Copper Chimney has taken millions of guests on a culinary journey exploring and celebrating Indian cuisine, culture and flavours,” said brand director of Copper Chimney, Shikha Nath.

"We are thrilled to be open in Dubai, and working with our franchise partners, Exquisite International Restaurants, to bring our flavours to this international dining destination. Copper Chimney has become a culinary landmark since its humble beginnings in Bombay and we hope to share some of those flavours here with the residents of Dubai and the rest of the UAE."

The restaurant was founded by Bollywood filmmaker Mr JK Kapur in Bombay in 1972. It’s now famed for tandoor grilled meats, vegetables, biryanis and small plates.
Open daily 11.30am-11.30pm. Millenium Plaza Hotel, Sheikh Zayed Road, www.copperchimney.ae (04 326 9444).
