There’s a brand-new Thai restaurant opening in JBR – and Time Out Dubai’s been for a sneak peek behind the scenes.

Mango Tree Thai Bistro is opening at Hilton Dubai The Walk next week (Wednesday February 6).

It promises to serve up “delicious authentic Thai flavours and new creations”

Mango Tree is part of a global brand, which started out as a 20-seat spot in Downtown Bangkok in 1957. It now has branches in more than ten countries around the world, including the UK. It previously had a restaurant in Souk Al Bahar, which shut three years ago.

The JBR restaurant features an outdoor terrace, while indoors there’s plenty of vibrant art, aimed to “resemble the lively and fun-loving lifestyle of Thailand and the bustling streets of Bangkok”.

“We are excited to have such a well-known restaurant brand open at our hotel,” said Andreas Searty, Cluster General Manager, Hilton Dubai Jumeirah, Hilton Dubai The Walk and Hilton Dubai Creek.

“The concept is authentic and the food is full of flavours. We are confident Mango Tree Thai Bistro will see great success. We can’t wait to open the doors to our guests at Hilton Dubai The Walk.”

Dishes come from head chef Atip Intarakased and will feature cuisine from all over Thailand. Highlights on the menu include watermelon salad with hand-ground dry shrimp floss – an ancient Thai recipe – as well as som tan corn salad, spicy beef short rib soup, jungle curry and massaman lamb. There will also be a range of Thai flatbreads.

The restaurant promises to be family-friendly and accessible, with a casual vibe.

“This bold bistro concept with indoor seating and outdoor patio will be perfectly suited to guests who want a casual place to dine, couples and groups of friends seeking a fun and lively evening out,” said Trevor MacKenzie, Mango Tree’s Global Managing Director.

We can’t wait to try it.
Opening Wed Feb 6. Open daily 5pm-1am. Hilton Dubai The Walk, JBR (04 374 7555).
