There’s a new café in Barsha Heights, and the dishes look belt-bustlingly beastly.

Beastro is now open in First Central Hotel Suites and it’s promising “fun, quirky and affordable comfort food”.

Dishes have been created by Canadian chef Patrick Lanteigne and the team claims Beastro is set to become your “new hipster hangout”.

Dishes include the Nashville hot chicken sandwich,, which is promised to be “super-hot” with crispy fried chicken, lettuce and homemade pickles, as well as a “smashed burger” made with two smashed patties, crispy cheese cookie and burger sauce, plus extra-crisp chicken wings and a Japanese fish sandwich (otherwise known as an tempura fish finger sarnie with slaw and togarashi ginger mayo).

There’s also “the best grilled cheese” (we’ll be the judge of that) with cheddar, Parmesan, labneh and makdous.

Feeling like sharing? You can get the hot chicken platter or Beast Mode poutine – a “monster-sized” portion with classic and sweet potato fries, onion rings, sliders, fried chicken, gravy and cheese curds.

Don’t miss the desserts either, which include a Beast Mode sundae and Rice Krispie treats. Sandwiches are all under Dhs50, while mains are around the same and desserts are Dhs20 (bar the sundae at Dhs35). Tacos include Baja fish, beef barbacoa and pulled chicken, all of which are just Dhs19 each or three for Dhs50.

If you’re looking for a healthier option then there are loads of salads to dig into too.

As well as the food there are also loads of board games to keep you occupied and there’s a a range of coffees, smoothies and mocktails to sip on, too.

The café has a new range of weekly offers too, include Veggiesday on a Wednesday where you’ll get a range of unique vegetarian dishes. Every Friday it’s Go Fish, where a different fish dish is served up every week. Chicken wings are just Dhs2 every Thursday, while on a Saturday you can dig into limited-edition tacos.

We’ll be the ones with a plateful of grilled cheese.
Open daily 6.30am-10pm. First Central Hotel Suites, Barsha Heights (04 454 4950).
