Grilled cheese toastie festival coming to town

A whole week of gooey, stringy fun arrives next week

Grilled cheese toastie festival coming to town

Oozing with cheese, served with a bowl of soup, a dollop of pickle, a splodge of ketchup, next to a bag of crisps or just simply on its tod – the humble cheese toastie is an absolute classic.

However you have yours, you’re sure to love this truly magnificent dairy feast that’s coming to town in the next fortnight, running from Saturday April 6 to Friday April 12. Beastro, found in Barsha Heights, is already home to some banging comfort food (thinking chicken sandwiches, burgers etc), as well as Dhs2 chicken wings from time to time, but now it’s going to be home to a one-off festival dedicating itself to the gooey, stringy delight that is the grilled cheese.

So, what’s your fave?

Well, with prices at just Dhs35 for a sanger, you’ll be able to get your hands on one of six different grilled cheeses, including the restaurant’s self-proclaimed (and named) “The BEST Grilled Cheese” – stuffed full of cheddar, Parmesan, labneh and makdous… dreamy.

As well as the (allegedly) best grilled cheese around, you’ll also be able to get your hands on the tomato grilled cheese, the onion maple syrup grilled cheese (right?), the sweet potato grilled cheese (tell us more…), the mint chanti grilled cheese and the miso grilled cheese. Interesting.

We’re already deliriously dizzy with pre-cheese giddiness, so go and stuff your chops with some amazing toasties when the menu lands from Saturday April 6 through until Friday 12.
Dhs35. Apr 6-12, 6.30am-10pm. First Central Hotel Suites, Barsha Heights (04 454 4950).
